Subject(s): Abram, Jacques (1915-1998); Music & Musicians

Sound prismed in jet globules were encased
Within the bounds of a long sarcophagus
Of lines and spaces by a mind that raced
Beyond the close confines which limit us
Of mortal stature. Sound like this once sealed
In hieroglyphics such as these are dead
Until ten fleshly tapers draw revealed
And lambent glories from their legend. Bled
Of earthiness those fingers resurrect
That finer life wherein the senses live
In harmony with Titan intellect
Extracting all that either one may give. --
Clairvoyant beauties scintillate and weave
Pellucid immortality ears conceive.
