INGRATITUDE, by                 Poet Analysis
First Line: Am I a fool?
Last Line: No mercy be.
Alternate Author Name(s): Davies, W. H.
Subject(s): Ingratitude; Ungratefulness

Am I a fool?
So let it be,
For half the world
Will pity me.

Ingratitude
Is not my name;
Thieves, called by that,
Are dumb for shame.

A fool -- the world
Will pity me;
Ungrateful -- let
No mercy be.
