OLD ACQUAINTANCE, by                 Poet Analysis
First Line: Thy water, alteryn
Last Line: And fair as childhood -- still?
Alternate Author Name(s): Davies, W. H.
Subject(s): Youth

Thy water, Alteryn,
Shines brighter through my tears,
With childhood in my mind:
So will it shine when age
Has made me almost blind.
How canst thou look so young
On my fast changing flesh
And brooding cares that kill --
Oh, you sweet witch as fresh
And fair as childhood -- still?
