Alternate Author Name(s): Davies, W. H.

When Poll stays here, her Jack goes there,
To earn their provender;
Her cries are all in Bethnal Green —
'Sweet Lavender! Sweet Lavender!
Who'll buy Sweet Lavender?'

And oft she wonders if her Jack
Enjoys a man's success;
Who cries on top of Stamford Hill —
'Young Watercress! Young Watercress!
Who'll buy Young Watercress?'
