Alternate Author Name(s): Davies, W. H.
Subject(s): Begging & Beggars; Love

When she threatened to leave me,
And I, full of evil,
Cried 'Hoi, tiddlee, hoi,
Here's work for the devil! —'

With a sharp, single cry,
With a quick, sudden burst,
Up sat our little blind dog,
And begged to be nursed.
