THE RETURN, by                    
First Line: Now you are gone
Last Line: My hushed heart waits for you.

Now you are gone
Where lovelier flowers bloom,
Will you forget
This garden, -- yours and mine,
Gay with the patterns
Woven on Spring's swift loom
In tulips, daffodils,
And columbine?

Nay, when the first
Bright star shines in the sky,
And winds are sweet
With perfume and with dew
Along our path, --
I hear a night bird cry, --
Oh, not in vain
My hushed heart waits for you.
