HOPING, by                    
First Line: I sit by the window and watch and wait
Last Line: And safe for another day!

I sit by the window and watch and wait
For those whom I love do roam;
Darkness descends; it's growing late
Still they are not at home.

And then I see a gleam of light
Sending its piercing ray;
In they come, and they're quite all right,
And safe for another day!
