AUTUMN SONG, by GLENN WARD DRESBACH First Line: A little wind will loosen now Last Line: What took so little, gave so much. Subject(s): Autumn; Seasons; Fall | |||
A little wind will loosen now The apples that have bent the bough. A falling leaf along the wall Will make the cobweb ladder fall. The smallest wing that moves across The pasture starts a flight of floss. The lightest step will stir today A fragrance that will drift away. And not a day or heart can hold This golden light, this dust of gold... Tread softly, love; each step will touch What took so little, gave so much. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...OUR AUTUMN by ELIZABETH AKERS ALLEN AN AUTUMN JOY by GEORGE ARNOLD A LEAF FALLS by MARION LOUISE BLISS THE FARMER'S BOY: AUTUMN by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD A LETTER IN OCTOBER by TED KOOSER AUTUMN EVENING by DAVID LEHMAN |
