MY WINDOW GARDEN, by IVA H. DREW First Line: I have a little garden box Last Line: And always birds to sing. Subject(s): Flowers; Future; Gardens & Gardening; Windows | ||||||||
I have a little garden box Upon my window sill, Where hyacinths and sedums grow And lilies bloom at will. No matter how the winter's storms May rage with ghoulish glee And beat against my casement there, It never frightens me. I watch my flowers from day to day, I water them with care And they give back their sweet perfume -- Their fragrance fills the air. I wonder if in years to come That window box will grow, When I who tend it now so well Shall sleep beneath the snow? I wonder if -- but who can tell What passing years may bring? But still -- there's always flowers to bloom And always birds to sing. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...WINDOW BLIND by HAYDEN CARRUTH WINDSHIELD by ALICIA SUSKIN OSTRIKER NOW CLOSE THE WINDOWS by ROBERT FROST WINDOW TRIMMER by MARGARET LEE ASHLEY THE LAST MAN: LIFE A GLASS WINDOW by THOMAS LOVELL BEDDOES CASEMENT WINDOWS by CLARISSA BROOKS |
