A SONG OF BRIDGES, by MIKHAIL DUDIN First Line: Bridges of hatred Last Line: From earth to space. Subject(s): Bridges; Hate | ||||||||
Bridges of hatred, Bridges of greed -- When did they serve a human need? Bridges of menace, Bridges of war -- Tear them all down, and build no more! But still remain Some gulfs to span; They're wide -- but can be bridged by Man. A noble bridge, then, let us start From land to land And heart to heart. And firmly on this bridge will stand True Friendship stretching from his hand To all the mighty human race Who'll build a bridge From Earth to Space. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...LOVE THE WILD SWAN by ROBINSON JEFFERS HATRED by GWENDOLYN B.
