WINTER, by ELIZABETH EBELTOFT First Line: With crystal needle, flashing bright Last Line: Above their regal robes of white. Subject(s): Winter | ||||||||
With crystal needle, flashing bright, And fragile threads of dark and light, Winter weaves, with magic grace, The pattern of her dreams, in lace. A scarf she throws across the sky; Bare hills beneath her mantle lie; In black and silver, trees are drest; And homely houses raise their crests Above their regal robes of white. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...LOOKING EAST IN THE WINTER by JOHN HOLLANDER WINTER DISTANCES by FANNY HOWE WINTER FORECAST by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN AT WINTER'S EDGE by JUDY JORDAN CHAMBER MUSIC: 34 by JAMES JOYCE THE BURIAL OF BOSTON CORBETT (ONE WARDEN TO ANOTHER) by EDGAR LEE MASTERS TO HIS WIFE ON THE 16TH ANNIVERSARY OF HER WEDDING DAY, WITH A RING by SAMUEL BISHOP |
