ACROSS THE SEA OF LIFE, by OLIVER MURRAY EDWARDS First Line: I gazed into a maiden's eyes Last Line: Engulfed in glory light. Subject(s): Boats; Love; Sailing & Sailors; Sea; Seamen; Sails; Ocean | ||||||||
I gazed into a maiden's eyes And saw reflected love, Deeper than ocean depths beneath Or blue of sky above. Lifted by tides that ebb and flow, We passed across the bar Out on the sea of life beyond, Beneath a guiding star. Tossed by the waves that rose and fell On calm and stormy sea, Blown by the winds that come and go, Fearless, she sailed with me. We saw the passing of the sun That told of coming night As we sailed on into the west, Engulfed in Glory Light. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HALL OF OCEAN LIFE by JOHN HOLLANDER JULY FOURTH BY THE OCEAN by ROBINSON JEFFERS BOATS IN A FOG by ROBINSON JEFFERS CONTINENT'S END by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE FIGUREHEAD by LEONIE ADAMS A CHRISTMAS CAROL AND ANTHEM by OLIVER MURRAY EDWARDS |
