A dewdrop sparkled in the sun Reflecting morning light, The sun's rays shed a genial warmth, Gone was the chill of night; In perfect purity it hung Upon a lovely flower, It felt the joy of life and love And lingered for an hour. And with the passing of the day, Where bursting buds surround The petals from the lovely flower Lay scattered on the ground; The birds sang sweetly in the trees, The sun moved on its way 'Til in a burst of glory passed Another summer day. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE STUDY OF HAPPINESS by KENNETH KOCH SO MUCH HAPPINESS by NAOMI SHIHAB NYE CROWD CONDITIONS by JOHN ASHBERY I WILL NOT BE CLAIMED by MARVIN BELL THE BOOK OF THE DEAD MAN (#21): 1.
