Fill us full of canned goods, Fill us full of ham, Fill us full of applesauce, Fill us full of jam; We await the Pickle Boat, On the dock we stand With our mouths awaterin', Pennies in our hand. When we heard the whistle blow, Down the stairs we ran; Phyllis eats 'most anything Hurry, hurry, Man! Fill us with banana oil, Milk from out the can, Fill us full of chewin' gum, Take our pennies, Man; Give us sumthin' awful sweet For an achin' tooth; And for Dudley's stummik's sake One more Baby Ruth. Till our mothers pump us out, Who will ever know What gave us the stummik ache And made us holler so? | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...RICHARD, WHAT'S THAT NOISE? by RICHARD HOWARD LOOKING FOR THE GULF MOTEL by RICHARD BLANCO RIVERS INTO SEAS by LYNDA HULL DESTINATIONS by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN THE ONE WHO WAS DIFFERENT by RANDALL JARRELL THE CONFESSION OF ST.
