WATER-POEM: A PRAYER & INVOCATION TO THE PRINCE OF RAIN, by                     Poet's Biography
First Line: Af-bri / sign
Subject(s): Jews; Mysticism - Judaism; Water; Judaism

Af-Bri
sign
name of
rain's angel

clouding
vaporing
emptying
raining

sprouts
of water
crown
this valley

won't stop
compact
goes on
unyielding

shielding them
faithful
beggars for
rain

& you my hero forever Yahveh my god you wake the dead many times you
save us

be watchful
send down
rain from
rain rivers

melt
the face of
earth
with clear opals

water
your power
your mark
written down
like drops
reviving
those who blow
breath
you restore
who invoke
powers of
rain

. . . . . . . . .

(invocation thru the fathers priests & tribes)

: our Elohim & Elohim of our fathers
remember the father
you drew behind you
like water

you blessed like a tree
planted by streams
of water

you shielded
saved him from fire
& water

you would guard
when he seeded beside
every water
because of him don't stop your water

remember words of his birth
let him drink
the small water

you told his father to kill him
his blood spilt
like water

as he was ready to spill
his heart
like water

to dig & to find
wells
of water
because of him pour down your water

remember
who carried his stick across
Jordan's water

one-hearted
rolled stones from the mouth of the well
of water

when he wrestled the prince
mixed from fire
& water

till you promised
you would stay with him
in fire & in water
because of him don't stop your water

remember the one they drew out
from a reed boat
in the water

they commanded
& didn't he water his flock
with water

the people you chose
when they thirsted
for water

he beat on the rock
it opened & gave out
water
because of him pour down your water

remember the temple priest
who bathed 5 times
in water

who walked
who washed his hands in holiness
of water

reading
sprinkling purifying
water

kept distant
from a people violent
as water
because of him don't stop your water

remember the 12 tribes
you made to cross
the water

for whom you sweetened
bitterness
of water

whose generations
spilt their blood for you
like water

o turn our minds
encircled by
that water
because of them pour down your water

for you are Yahveh are our elohim you make the wind blow & the rain fall down
