LIFE'S PATTERNS, by MARGARET ELLIOTT First Line: Life is a loom, and we are the weavers Last Line: And gold threads of love be woven through all. Subject(s): Life Change Events | ||||||||
Life is a loom, and we are the weavers, The warp is laid by the Master's hand. For the pattern and colors, we are the makers Their beauty depends on our daily stand. The shuttle lifts and the threads are spun, From the dawning of day, till the setting sun; And the cheerful heart, and the courage true Are as colors of red and brightest blue. Since we as the weavers may choose as we go, Let us fashion a pattern where faith will show; And hope reach out like spires tall, And gold threads of love be woven through all. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE CITY IN WHICH I WAS BORN WAS DESTROYED BY CANNON by YEHUDA AMICHAI AT FIRST I WAS GIVEN by MARGARET ATWOOD THE WORLD'S A STAGE by HILAIRE BELLOC LEARNING TO TALK by CECIL DAY LEWIS THE NEWBORN by CECIL DAY LEWIS SOMEBODY'LL HAV' TO SHOOT YA DOWN' by NORMAN DUBIE AFTER THREE PHOTOGRAPHS OF BRASSAI by NORMAN DUBIE A PRAYER FOR SPRING by MARGARET ELLIOTT |
