ANALYSIS, by GEORGE ELLISTON First Line: A high clear chord will tear my heart Last Line: That I remember all my days. Subject(s): Love; Moon; Rainbows | ||||||||
A high clear chord will tear my heart But oh a stillness after; Soft ladders to the stars are strung, And played upon with laughter. And dripping rainbows reach the moon Lutes light and gay as rustic love, Oh I can know a high clear note And fling my dreams to skies above -- But when a silence follows after, White shadows weave a thousand ways, And hopes unsung cry in the winds That I remember all my days. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...TIE-DOWN OF A BONSAI by MARVIN BELL THE RAINBOW [IN THE SKY] by WILLIAM WORDSWORTH ON A RAINBOW AT NIGHT by JOHN GARDINER CALKINS BRAINARD TO THE RAINBOW by THOMAS CAMPBELL GREEK SPRING; MARCH, ATHENS, 1913 by RHYS CARPENTER THE GREAT ADVENTURE by PATRICK REGINALD CHALMERS THE RAINBOW by WILLIAM HENRY DAVIES THE RAINBOW (1) by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE |
