RAIN AND I, by NELL EZELL First Line: Drop after silver drop Last Line: Which is the wearier of us two, rain? Subject(s): Rain | ||||||||
Drop after silver drop Like crystal pendants For milady's ears, Splashing against Pavements, trees, Roofs and faces. Drop after silver drop Against my windowpane Beats a drowsy sonata. Oh, weary, weary, rain. Drop after silver drop Against my heart -- Internal tears, fall gently, My heart is sore. Oh, weary rain. Drop after silver drop Against my brain Trying to wash away Memories. Futile task. The rain is tired. Drop after silver drop Upon my face. I stretch my arms to it The welcome feel of rain-tears On my cheeks. Drop after silver drop On heart, on mind, On face.
