IN TUSCANY: A SEA-SPELL, by CORA RANDALL FABBRI First Line: There is a siren in the sea Last Line: That she has drowned me in my tears. | ||||||||
THERE is a Siren in the sea, And all day long she sings to me, Until my soul is no more free. I listen by the waves all day, Although, if free, I should not stay Beside a sea so cold and gray, But choose a spot all sun and light, With songs, and roses red and white, And stars that make men love the night. But all day long she sings to me Of love that is a memory More bitter than the bitter sea. She sings to me of other years, Nor will she cease until she hears That she has drowned me in my tears. | Discover our poem explanations - click here!Other Poems of Interest...A THOUGHT by CORA RANDALL FABBRI A WINTER PIECE by CORA RANDALL FABBRI ABSENCE by CORA RANDALL FABBRI AN OLD MAID by CORA RANDALL FABBRI DECEPTION by CORA RANDALL FABBRI DIED YOUNG by CORA RANDALL FABBRI HEART SONGS by CORA RANDALL FABBRI IN TUSCANY: ANITA by CORA RANDALL FABBRI IN TUSCANY: DEAD LEAVES by CORA RANDALL FABBRI |
