SNOW IN THE AIR, by VERA FLANDORF First Line: I have walked in florida Last Line: When snow is in the air. Subject(s): Snow | ||||||||
I have walked in Florida Under bending palms, Under sweet magnolia Scattering white alms. But I'd rather tramp in northern woods With beeches stripped and bare, And pick brown cones with olive hoods, When snow is in the air. I have strolled on southern strands Under sapphire skies, Where colors throb to crooning bands, And love swoons in black eyes. But I'd rather pace a northern lake That cruel tempests tear With ghostly howling in my wake, When snow is in the air. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...BRIGHT SUN AFTER HEAVY SNOW by JANE KENYON SNOW FALLING THROUGH FOG by WILLIAM MATTHEWS THE SNOW FAIRY by CLAUDE MCKAY NOT ONLY ESKIMOS by LISEL MUELLER ANNA IVANOVNA by VERA FLANDORF |
