We are so near the music,
You and I;
It will lift our dreams and break them
On the sky --
Where stars will bring fulfillment;
Then my dear
There'll be a finer dreaming
For you here.

Oh if your life is broken
When you've sinned,
Watch a willow by the river
In the wind.
You will dream again tomorrow
Like a tree
Who can bend her soul to music
And be free!
