FORGET-ME-NOT, by
First Line: Oh, dear little forget - me - not
Last Line: "a hero -- wounded -- has chosen me."
Subject(s): Flowers; Imaginary Conversations

Oh, dear little forget-me-not,
Why are your petals so blue?
Is there a bit of heaven
Reflected in softest hue?

Tell me, little forget-me-not,
Why are you so small?
I scarcely can see you growing
Beside my garden wall.

"Ah! God looked down upon me,
That's why my petals are blue;
In return I promised Him,
To be loyal, kind and true.

"Forget me not as you pass by,
I'm small, but patient, you see;
Stoop down, and look into my soul --
A hero -- wounded -- has chosen me."
