PRELUDE FOR LOT'S WIFE by JAMES T. GALLAGHER

First Line: LET SOFT WHITE SILVER OF HER TEARS
Last Line: A PILLAR OF SALT.
Subject(s): FEAR; GOD; SALT; TEARS;

Let soft white silver of her tears
Cake crystal all her fears
That Babel-like rise
To pry sorrow
From God's eyes.
Soon comes the morrow
When they meet --
Stalagmite
And stalactite --
To complete
With sudden halt
A pillar of salt.
