MY CONFESSION, by ANNA MANLEY GALT First Line: Some people want their sunsets Last Line: I'm glad my hair is gray! Subject(s): Contentment; Simplicity | ||||||||
Some people want their sunsets Twenty colors in a row. I like as well an evening With just a purple glow. Some adore a banquet... Crystal, silver, shaded lights; But I love toast and applesauce On crispy winter nights. I know it is most orthodox To long to meet a king; But I enjoy my laundress Who doesn't own a thing! And when it comes to my own looks Such candor I display... I know it's strange, but really I'm glad my hair is gray! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE WANTS OF MAN by JOHN QUINCY ADAMS FIRST BOOK OF AIRS: 20.
