GOSSIP, by ELIZABETH JOHANNA GARDEY First Line: Gossip is a cruel thing Last Line: And a great deal of gladness we will find here. Subject(s): Gossip | |||
Gossip is a cruel thing. Like a wasp, it leaves a sting, Hurts your friend and harms your foe. Just why do we gossip so? Even though we know quite well It will hurt someone, We just tell stories that concern us not But will increase someone's care a lot. Each time something to say have we, Let's think, if they told this story of me I would not like it quite so well . . . Guess I hadn't better tell. Then what a wonderful world this could be For trusting friendship, don't you see? So let's each try in our own little sphere And a great deal of gladness we will find here. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE WANDERER: 1.
