TRANSFORMED, by CAROLINE GILTINAN Poet's Biography First Line: Black and naked branches Last Line: The sun will find your breast. Alternate Author Name(s): Harlow, Leo P., Mrs. Subject(s): Spring; Sun | ||||||||
Black and naked branches Always searching one, You await the coming Of your lord, the sun. Warmed with all his grandeur, Suddenly some day He who holds your worship Will achieve his way. In the glow of Springtime -- The sun is very wise! -- Turn and see within you With fascinated eyes, Wonderful as music Green leaves and moving boughs. In your thousand blossoms, Mating birds will house. Hidden in your branches Where you shield one nest, Tree of strange surprises The sun will find your breast. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...JOURNEY INTO THE EYE by DAVID LEHMAN AGAINST EXCESS OF SEA OR SUN OR REASON by WILLIAM MEREDITH WHY I WAKE EARLY by MARY OLIVER CONTRA MORTEM: THE SUN by HAYDEN CARRUTH SERPENT SUN EYE BEWITCHING MY EYE by AIME CESAIRE OVERNIGHT, A ROSE by CAROLINE GILTINAN |
