"Thirty-six hours from Singapore," Sailing an azure sea; Thirty-six hours, no less, no more -- Look what has happened me! Only a circular garishly made, Placarding Java and Bali trade, But weaving the spell of the East -- pearls, jade, Teakwood and Singapore! Dollars, come quickly and bring me more -- Dollars to carry me there! "Thirty-six hours from Singapore!" Witness me sniffing the air! Stalls I shall visit, and taste and try; Bargain for treasures I never can buy, Pinching myself to make sure it is I, Shopping in Singapore!
