IMPARTIAL SKIES, by ANNA WHITE HARDINGER First Line: You sing a song of arid lands Last Line: To share the sky's expanse! Subject(s): Deserts; Food & Eating; Sea; Ocean | ||||||||
You sing a song of arid lands, I sing about the sea; My ship can sail a pampas range Manned by but phantasy. Beyond my barren storm-swept shore, I've seen a gay mirage; A sun-kissed prairie's blooming heath, In golden camouflage. Where candelabra-cacti hem Your pinnacles of stone When sage in purple billow looms, Hear you my far seas' moan? Chant your desert's hymn of praise, And I my sea's romance; -- We lift alike our alien eyes To share the sky's expanse! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HALL OF OCEAN LIFE by JOHN HOLLANDER JULY FOURTH BY THE OCEAN by ROBINSON JEFFERS BOATS IN A FOG by ROBINSON JEFFERS CONTINENT'S END by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE FIGUREHEAD by LEONIE ADAMS |
