WIND SONG, by MARGARET HARVEY First Line: Wind of the night, sing high, sing low Last Line: A lullaby song for my laddie-o! Subject(s): Wind | ||||||||
Wind of the night, sing high, sing low, A lullaby song for my laddie-O. Sing him a song in a happy key For I want him to love your melody. Sing him a soft little lilting tune Of hanging gardens beyond the moon, Of ships that sail and stars that shine, And birds that nest in the silvery pine. And if you must sing in a minor strain, Brush all the tear-drops out of the rain. Teach him there's beauty in songs that are sad -- Too somber those eyes for so tiny a lad. Oh, wind of the night, sing high, sing low, A lullaby song for my laddie-O! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE THREE CHILDREN by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN THE WIND by LOUISE MOREY BOWMAN LEAF LITTER ON ROCK FACE by HEATHER MCHUGH RESIDENTIAL AREA by JOSEPHINE MILES THE DAY THE WINDS by JOSEPHINE MILES VARIATIONS: 12 by CONRAD AIKEN OH IT'S PRETTY WINDY OUTSIDE by LARRY EIGNER |
