O HERALD whisper falling
Upon the passing night,
Mysteriously calling
The children of the light!
He cometh: oh, He cometh!
Our own beloved Lord!
This blessed hope up-summeth
Our undeserved reward.
He cometh! though the hour
Nor earth nor heaven may know,
Sure is the word of power,
"He cometh!" Even so!
