MOST BLESSED FOREVER, by FRANCES RIDLEY HAVERGAL Poet's Biography First Line: The prayer of many a day is all fulfilled Last Line: "sweetest and fullest, ""most blessed forever!" Subject(s): Blessings; Prayer | ||||||||
THE prayer of many a day is all fulfilled, Only by full fruition stayed and stilled; You asked for blessing as your Father willed, Now He hath answered, "Most blessed forever!" Lost is the daily light of mutual smile, You therefore sorrow now a little while; But floating down life's dimmed and lonely aisle Comes the clear music, "Most blessed forever!" From the great anthems of the Crystal Sea, Through the far vistas of Eternity, Grand echoes of the word peal on for thee, Sweetest and fullest, "Most blessed forever!" | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...UNHOLY SONNET 11 by MARK JARMAN LISTEN, LORD: A PRAYER by JAMES WELDON JOHNSON A PRAYER FOR THE FUTURE by GEORGE BARLOW (1847-1913) DIFFERENT WAYS TO PRAY by NAOMI SHIHAB NYE PRAYER DURING A TIME MY SON IS HAVING SEIZURES by SHARON OLDS WE WHO PRAYED AND WEPT by WENDELL BERRY PRAYERS AND SAYINGS OF THE MAD FARMER by WENDELL BERRY CONSECRATION HYMN by FRANCES RIDLEY HAVERGAL I DID THIS FOR THEE!
