NIGHT sinks on the wave, Hollow gusts are sighing, Sea-birds to their cave Through the gloom are flying. Oh! should storms come sweeping, Thou, in heaven unsleeping, O'er thy children vigil keeping, Hear, hear, and save! Thou, whose voice came thrilling, Wind and billow stilling, Speak once more! our prayer fulfilling -- Power dwells with Thee! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HALL OF OCEAN LIFE by JOHN HOLLANDER JULY FOURTH BY THE OCEAN by ROBINSON JEFFERS BOATS IN A FOG by ROBINSON JEFFERS CONTINENT'S END by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE FIGUREHEAD by LEONIE ADAMS A DIRGE (1) by FELICIA DOROTHEA HEMANS |
