Mark of God's finger—
High on the mountain-side,
Where the snows linger.
Mount of the Holy Cross,
Was it God's sorrowing,
Wrought your white silhouette.
While He was suffering?
Holy Cross, Holy Cross,
Ever you linger,
Deep in my aching heart,
Etched by God's finger.
