COURTSHIP OF FLOWERS, by JOHN LEE HIGGINS Poet's Biography First Line: The spring buds are bursting Last Line: Are booming their bells. Subject(s): Bells; Flowers; Spring | ||||||||
The spring buds are bursting, Exploding their shells, And I'm deaf with the booming Of gold-pollened bells. When the bell-ringing bees On the tongues of the bells Are a-swing in the wind In the loud clanging dells, Mad lovers come wooing From gold-pollened bells With wild, loud chanting, With magic and spells, Yet I hark, but I swoon, And my white bosom swells, Now the Great Regal Lilies Are booming their bells. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING LEMONADE by TONY HOAGLAND A SPRING SONG by LYMAN WHITNEY ALLEN SPRING'S RETURN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SPRING IN WINTER by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES SPRING ON THE PRAIRIE by HERBERT BATES THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD |
