MRS. FRICK'S ANECDOTE, by ELSIE K. HOPWOOD First Line: It was the middle of the morning Last Line: Bob's little boat moved on. Subject(s): Animals; Frogs | ||||||||
It was the middle of the morning, Anne and I walked into the garden. Halfway up in the sky the sun was shining. The air so warm and clear Touched our faces like a gentle caress. Little seedlings had long peeped through. Their leaves so fresh and green Spread a blanket o'er the earth. The birds high up in the trees Had not ceased their morning song. A little pond so cool and gentle, With its mill wheel standing still, Seemed to beckon us. Bob's little sailboat Was being propelled in "girks." A Granddad frog was using it For a resting place. Every time his throat burst forth Its deep sonorous call, Bob's little boat moved on. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...YOUNG BULLFROGS by CARL SANDBURG SMALL FROGS KILLED ON THE HIGHWAY by JAMES WRIGHT ASSAULT by EDNA ST.
