CONVERSION, by THOMAS ERNEST HULME Poet's Biography First Line: Light-hearted I walked into the valley wood Last Line: As any peeping turk to the bosphorus. Alternate Author Name(s): Hulme, T. E. | ||||||||
Lighthearted I walked into the valley wood In the time of hyacinths, Till beauty like a scented cloth Cast over, stifled me. I was bound Motionless and faint of breath By loveliness that is her own eunuch. Now pass I to the final river Ignominiously, in a sack, without sound, As any peeping Turk to the Bosphorus. | Other Poems of Interest...ABOVE THE DOCK by THOMAS ERNEST HULME AS A FOWL by THOMAS ERNEST HULME FRAGMENT by THOMAS ERNEST HULME FRAGMENT by THOMAS ERNEST HULME FRAGMENT by THOMAS ERNEST HULME IN THE CITY SQUARE by THOMAS ERNEST HULME MANA ABODA by THOMAS ERNEST HULME THE EMBANKMENT by THOMAS ERNEST HULME THE POET by THOMAS ERNEST HULME |
