BEWARE THE HAWK, by
First Line: My heart, forbear, and do not leave
Last Line: The fierce and sudden hawk of love.
Subject(s): Birds; Hawks

My heart, forbear, and do not leave
The narrow caging of my breast,
And for the wide sky do not grieve,
Stay safely sheltered, that is best.

Ah stay, my heart, and do not dare
The treacherous pathways of the air,
Lest fatal doom strike from above --
The fierce and sudden hawk of love.
