GOD HATH MADE ALL THINGS LOVELY, by HARRIET A. JENNEY First Line: The beauty of god's world is ever new Last Line: God hath made all things lovely in their time. Subject(s): Nature; Spring | ||||||||
The beauty of God's world is ever new: Today, the churning gray of wintry sky Has changed above the snow to arching blue, Against which, branches, etched in crystal, lie. Tomorrow, Spring will bring the growing light, And fields will burgeon to a green and gold, While apple boughs will flash to blushing white And fleur-de-lis will flaunt their banners bold. June fills the land with fragrant ecstasy, And swinging sweep of magic sapphire dome Will grace a rose-filled world. The revelry Of gay October's plangent polychrome Rounds out a glorious year. In every clime God hath made all things lovely in their time. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING LEMONADE by TONY HOAGLAND A SPRING SONG by LYMAN WHITNEY ALLEN SPRING'S RETURN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SPRING IN WINTER by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES SPRING ON THE PRAIRIE by HERBERT BATES THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD A COLORADO JUNE DAWN by HARRIET A.
