FELLOWSHIP, by EDITH HARRIET JONES First Line: Twin trees! I see them everywhere Last Line: Who lives and reigns for aye. Subject(s): Miracles; Trees | ||||||||
Twin trees! I see them everywhere. How comforting to grow thus side by side, Fed by the self-same soil, Watered, refreshed by rain and dew From the same bountiful supply. Both heads upreared in God's sunshine, The roots of both deep bedded in His loam. When the breeze whispers, each has found a tongue And softly to its sister speaks. What are they saying as they sway in tune? Miracles come and go. Yet we are here A little while to serve Him in our day, Joying in fellowship and praising Him Who lives and reigns for aye. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE PROBLEM OF DESCRIBING TREES by ROBERT HASS THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MIDNIGHT EDEN by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN REFLECTION OF THE WOOD by LEONIE ADAMS THE LIFE OF TREES by DORIANNE LAUX THE BIRD BATH by EDITH HARRIET JONES |
