AN ACROSTIC TO SOROSIS CLUB MEMBERS, by LUCILLE BROCK JONES First Line: Some are little, some are fat Last Line: Something good to eat . . . No jest. Subject(s): Clubs (associations); Sorosis | ||||||||
Some are little, some are fat, Often we are told of that. Regular members all are we . . . Only go though . . . some for tea. Studying always, for the smart Into each of us impart Something that will help our hearts. Changing never from the right. Longing to make each of you bright, Under some conditions we . . . Blunder, blunder, can't you see? Mostly, we are scared to death . . . Even sometimes lose our breath . . . Moping slowly with our number; Best of all, ha! some sure slumber. Ever ready for the rest, Right you are, the last is best, Something good to eat . . . no jest. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...AN ODE, PARAPHRASED: THE CUP by ANACREON TO A MOUNTAIN DAISY by ROBERT BURNS RAIN-SONGS by PAUL LAURENCE DUNBAR THE QUANGLE WANGLE'S HAT by EDWARD LEAR THE CARD-DEALER by DANTE GABRIEL ROSSETTI |
