QUIET HOURS, by CARMEN JUDSON First Line: Master, I have need of quiet hours Last Line: Master, I have need of quiet hours. | ||||||||
Master, I have need of quiet hours, Tumultuous sounds assail my ears. Perhaps my heart could rest If there were place To pray. The way Was full of grace; A friendly hand was pressed Within my own. My sudden tears Were dried because of someone's gift of flowers. I glimpsed a slender moon above the towers, And beauty robbed me of my fears. A gentle wind caressed My lifted face Today. To pay For this; to trace Thy name across my breast, And satisfy my life's arrears, Master, I have need of quiet hours. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...WHAT IS A POEM? by CARMEN JUDSON ON A VIRTUOUS YOUNG GENTLEWOMAN THAT DIED SUDDENLY by WILLIAM CARTWRIGHT SECOND OPINION by STEPHEN CUSHMAN LYRICS TO IANTHE (2).
