TRYING, by FOREST M. KELP First Line: If you've failed in things you sought Last Line: Just by trying. Subject(s): Faith; Belief; Creed | ||||||||
If you've failed in things you sought, Stop your crying; Fortunes fair from dreams are wrought Just by trying; Whether you be king or thrall, High your wish, or low your call, If you falter you will fall Helpless, dying! On! press on and on with time, Self denying; Victory demands you climb Faith undying. You will reach that treasured height, See dawn burst above the night, And be bound to win your fight, Just by trying. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...UNHOLY SONNET 4 by MARK JARMAN QUIA ABSURDUM by ROBINSON JEFFERS GOING TO THE HORSE FLATS by ROBINSON JEFFERS SONNET TO FORTUNE by LUCY AIKEN JONATHAN EDWARDS IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS by ROBERT LOWELL |
