MY AIRSHIP, by EDNA FULLER KIRK First Line: I'm traveling in my airship Last Line: And I join the march of men. | ||||||||
I'm traveling in my Airship Above the world so high! I see so many pictures, As I go passing by; I see the worn and weary, The paths so rough, they've trod, I see the youth, lighthearted, In flowers that gaily nod. I see the grave and thoughtful, And next the young, so gay; And now brave men and women, And then the child at play. The youth is at the altar, The older ones at prayer, I gaze on the moving picture, With many a lesson there. I rise above the drifting cloud, Perfection now I view, I see a land of Promise, And things of age, made new; My Airship slowly lowers, I touch the earth again; There are many roads marked "Duty," And I join the march of men. | Other Poems of Interest...THE DISMANTLED SHIP by WALT WHITMAN AN INVOCATION by ISIDORE G.
