Last Line: How soft chinchilla is! . . . God, traps are slow!
Subject(s): Animals; Hunting; Hunters

Grayshadow, what is that strange thing I see
Drest in my brother's skin . . . and where is he?
That is woman, my baby seal, don't be afraid!
She is as gentle as this curving blade.

Grayshadow, all of my kinsfolk hang there --
Black and white, red, gray and silver-tipt hair.
Tush, little fox, your keen eye has a mote!
Those are fine scarves for woman's white throat.

Grayshadow, Grayshadow, what is that cry
From millions of creatures as helpless as I?
There, little rabbit, don't tremble so!
How soft chinchilla is! . . . God, traps are slow!
