MEXICAN DESERT, by MARGARET LATHROP LAW First Line: Where desert sage and agave are rimmed Last Line: The shallow will tremble in solitude. Subject(s): Deserts; Food & Eating; Mexico | ||||||||
Where desert sage and agave are rimmed By vast horizon, purple hilled, A paean to ancient gods is hymned While, prayer to lesser power stilled We crawl through vast unbounded space And man is an insignificant fly While verity stares from heaven's face. Immensity lies in an indigo sky. Where peaks are notching infinitude The shallow will tremble in solitude. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...EL DIA DE LOS MUERTOS by RAFAEL CAMPO GENTLY BENT TO EASE US'; FOR BILL KNOTT by NORMAN DUBIE THE PHOTOGRAPHER'S ANNUAL by NORMAN DUBIE REMEMBER MEXICO by MICHAEL S.
