FRIENDLY BLUE SKY PILOT (MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD), by LOLA GREENFIELD LAWRENCE First Line: A cerulean flash! Your sure course you take Last Line: Earth-children are awed by the joy in your soul! Subject(s): Birds; Bluebirds | ||||||||
A cerulean flash! Your sure course you take, Bluebird in blue skies above a blue lake, To a pine-sheltered nest, where spring hills agree With blue-tinted eggs. Your prosperity Is measured by vastness and sun-golden skies; By the nest, where you practice soft, bird lullabies; By your lady-love, waiting -- and thrilled with your song, A psalm sweet as David's, as pure and as strong, But the words are a chant only feathered folk know -- Yet their happiness colors the breezes' swift flow.
