First Line: Move out upon a gorgeous star
Last Line: Not faintly, not by chance!

Move out upon a gorgeous star,
Permit your eyes return,
Look down on townships where you were
On lights that bead and burn.

And look straight down on the shaking sea
Crashing over slate
And see on fire and distantly
The Pacific fluctuate --

And wonder in that palm of space
How man outdistanced ants,
Revolving in the little place
Not faintly, not by chance!
