WINDS, by WILHELMINA STAVERS LEE First Line: Spring winds / are singing strings Last Line: Her throat. Subject(s): Nature; Seasons; Wind | ||||||||
Spring winds Are singing strings Swept by restless fingers Caressingly through bare tree-tops Soon green. Summer With scorching winds Parches vegetation Till nature opens burning lips To drink. Autumn Drops the flowers From her graying tresses Scattered by playful breezes Far and wide. Winter Shudderingly Gives vent to agony In groans that shake the winds wringing Her throat. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE THREE CHILDREN by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN THE WIND by LOUISE MOREY BOWMAN LEAF LITTER ON ROCK FACE by HEATHER MCHUGH RESIDENTIAL AREA by JOSEPHINE MILES THE DAY THE WINDS by JOSEPHINE MILES VARIATIONS: 12 by CONRAD AIKEN OH IT'S PRETTY WINDY OUTSIDE by LARRY EIGNER AFTERGLOW by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON |
