APART, by EUNICE MITCHELL LEHMER First Line: She does not take the well worn path Last Line: Still linger in her face. | ||||||||
She does not take the well worn path Where we are meant to go; She does not think like common folk Who hurry to and fro. Her food is not the homely bread That you and I find sweet; She craves the zestful mountain fruit She gathers for her meat. While neighbors raise their eyebrows To see her wander far, They do not know that she has need Of talking with a star. If she is weary of her quest, A light is in her eye; For I have seen her on the hill Slim against the sky, The sunshine gone for us below, And shadow in its place, While unseen glories far away Still linger in her face. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...ARMISTICE by EUNICE MITCHELL LEHMER ETERNITY by EUNICE MITCHELL LEHMER HER LILACS by EUNICE MITCHELL LEHMER SUNSHINE IN THE CUP by EUNICE MITCHELL LEHMER PLACES 1.
