THE LOST CHORD, by                     Poet's Biography
First Line: Seated one day at the organ / I jumped as if I'd been shot
Last Line: The dean, with a nod, said 'okay'.
Alternate Author Name(s): Shy, Timothy; Lewis, Wyndham
Subject(s): Procter, Adelaide Anne (1825-1864)

Seated one day at the organ
I jumped as if I'd been shot,
For the Dean was upon me, snarling
'Stainer — and make it hot.'

All week I swung Stainer and Barnby,
Bach, Gounod, and Bunnett in A;
I said, 'Gosh, the old bus is a wonder!'
The Dean, with a nod, said 'Okay'.
